So then is it truly possible to be entirely free from limiting beliefs and life long fears? Absolutely, lets start by defining fear…

So what is fear really?

Fear is merely a thought, which through repetition, becomes a mental habit of the mind, a programmed thought pattern. Worry, anger, doubt, discontent (and other related thoughts) are often said to be the child of fear. They tend to depart with your fears, when all associated thoughts and beliefs are questioned and changed.

I find that most fears stem from unquestioned beliefs. This may correspond to the belief in yourself (such as your self worth), or be related to other beliefs created from your childhood state. Some dogmas use fear based tactics to keep you in a place where you’re not allowed to question outside the belief.

We spend many years under certain beliefs or thought patterns that seem to keep us locked in place, and hold us back from living to our true potential. The beauty of this is that everything comes down to a thought, and all thoughts can be changed.

Life without Fear – How to over come your fears?

One option to overcome your fears is to immediately affirm the opposite of whatever you’re feeling, when you notice a fear based thought arise. For example, when a fear-based thought arises, you would immediately focus on courage and give little attention to the fear-based thought. Courage will lead you to activity where fear tends to just paralyze you and keep you locked in place. Under this concept you don’t hold on to or resist the feared thought, you just immediately shift your focus to the opposite.

This is a good start to changing the “What Ifs” and “I cants” to I will and I can. One important aspect is to avoid the notion “oh I shouldn’t think that thought” as that creates resistance in your mind, which actually locks that thought in your mind.

Another option to this is to question all fear-based thoughts as they arise. Question without placing judgment, where you just observe and then allow it to pass, which avoids any conflict in your mind. Quite often, once a fear is questioned and released, you’ll find it no longer exists.

One important aspect that greatly aids this process is meditation. Meditation will bring you to that place of pure stillness where your thoughts are at bay, and no longer control you. While in this place you are then able to control the nature of which thoughts you choose to focus on and change. If you can work in a daily meditation practice, in time you will experience a lot of changes within. This process helps bring you to your core, discovering what you’re really about, while leading you to who you are at the most authentic level. Its very freeing.

All of these above have worked quite well for me. I tend to combine meditation practices, with self hypnosis, as well as the questioning process with a conscious observation of my thoughts and patterns. Over a period of time, this entire process becomes a automatic thought process and response from your subconscious…just like driving a car.

Life without Fear – How long does it take?

I like to think of the mind as the physical body. The more you exercise your body, the stronger you get, the quicker the results, and the easier it becomes. The same applies to your mind, as you are really exercising your mental muscles. The more you exercise them, the stronger they become, and the easier it is to change both your thoughts and habits.

Its been said, repetition is the mother of all learning. If you want to change your existing habits or thought patterns, that you’ve spent a live time of building and affirming, you will need to make a daily conscious effort. This is especially important during the building block phase, as you remap your thought patterns to a more positive thought-based process.

Living your Life without Fear

If you make just a few changes as noted above, you will find, that in time, you will be living a life without fear. You will notice that all your fear based thoughts will be replaced with more positive (life moving) thoughts, which will help excel you towards all your desires.

Many of the great spiritual teachers through out history speak of this in their own ways, how stillness can bring you to a place of absolute peace and transformation. Basically, your awareness rises to a state that allows you to observe your mind and thought patterns, with the ability to change them at any time.

This occurs very naturally as you experiences various shifts in your mind, from the place of stillness. In this place there is no fear, and you’ll feel only love.

When your living a life with out fear you are truly free.
